POOL REGULATIONS
- Extended breath holding, hyperventilating, or rapid intake of air is dangerous and can lead to underwater blackout. These activities will not be permitted at the LRAFB Pool
- All guests are required to enter through the main entrance of the bathhouse and sign in with a pool attendant.
- Showers are required before entering the pool.
- Swimming or diving is not permitted when lifeguard is not on duty.
- Climbing on lifeguard towers/playing with safety or lifesaving equipment is strictly prohibited.
- Patrons must follow the directions of lifeguards/pool manager.
- Talking with lifeguards on the stand is not allowed.
- Street clothes are not permitted in the water. Exception: A basic shirt may be used as a cover up.
- No breath holding or prolonged underwater swimming contests.
- Individuals experiencing the following conditions shall be prohibited from entering the pool: diarrhea, skin disease, open sores or lesions, sore or inflamed eyes, nasal or ear discharge.
- Children that are not toilet trained will not be permitted into the pool without a swim diaper or waterproof diaper cover.
- Spitting, urinating, or other contaminating of pool area is prohibited.
- Glass in any form is not authorized (glass containers, glass diving masks, glass drinkware, etc.)
- Children age 10 and under must be supervised by someone at least 16 years of age or older.
- Non-swimmers without a floatation device are limited to shallow water areas only, within arms reach of a parent or guardian.
- Only approved water/pool toys are allowed, such as diving sticks, rings, and splash balls. Hard sports balls are not permitted.
- No diving or flips from the pool edge.
- Patrons causing disruptions will be asked to leave the pool area. All profanity, improper behavior, and vulgar remarks are prohibited and are grounds for dismissal for the day.
- Running or rough playing is not permitted (including chicken fighting, dunking, throwing, etc.)
- Smoking and vaping is prohibited.
- Pool hours are subject to change due to staffing, mechanical issues, or weather conditions. Patrons may be asked to leave the fenced area based upon conditions.
- Maximum capacity of the base pool is 250 people.
- These rules are not all-inclusive and subject to change according to the DAFI 34-101 Pool Operation Standards. Please direct all questions to the pool manager or pool staff.
- Children age 10 and under must be supervised by someone at least age of 16.
- Children between 11-17yo if left unattended, or wish to use water features and the deep areas, must pass a swim test.
- Patrons identified as visibly struggling in the pool asked to perform a swim test must comply.
- Children that are not toilet trained will not be permitted into the pool without a swim diaper or waterproof diaper cover.
- No outside food and beverages, or glass containers, are allowed. Pool staff reserve all rights to check all coolers and containers.
- Outside food & drink from Rickenbacker’s Cafe and Bar or Strike Zone Grille are permitted with proof of same day purchase receipt.
- Food, beverages, and chewing gum are prohibited in the pool and the pool apron.
- Food and beverages are only permitted in the grassy areas or under the pavilions.
- Individuals must be cable of swimming 40ft before using the diving board.
- Life jackets, pool toys, floats, and jumpers are not permitted on the diving board.
- No diving or flips from the pool edge or diving from areas marked “No Diving.”
- Diving with goggles or a mask is prohibited.
- One person on the diving board at a time.
- Be sure the area is clear of all swimmers before diving.
- When using the diving board, only once bounce is permitted.
- Standard straight or forward diving is allowed only.
- Lifeguards have the authority to put a stop to any dangerous type of dive.
- Recommended height is 44 inches to utilize the slide.
- No more than one person on the slide at a time.
- No holding small children while sliding.
- One patron shall wait at the bottom of the stairs, and one patron at the top of the slide. All other patrons shall wait on the stairs.
- When the person at the top of the slide has entered the tube, the next person waiting on the stairs may climb to the top of the slide area.
- Please be sure all patrons are clear and away from the slide exit before entering the tube.
- No climbing back up the tube from the exit. Please immediately swim away from the exit.
- Forward sliding only, with feet facing towards the exit and with body faced up.
- Do not attempt to stop yourself inside the tube, as it may result in injury.
- Pool toys and floatation devices are not permitted on the slide.
- Only U.S. Coast Guard approved flotation devices or approved solid foam flotation devices are permitted (inflatable flotation toys and devices are not authorized in the pool). Pool noodles are not a substitute for U.S. Coast Guard approved life jackets for non-swimmers.
- Lifeguards reserve the right to restrict any non-U.S. Coast Guard flotation devices if they begin to hinder lifeguard capabilities
- Anyone using a life saving device or unable to pass a swim test must stay on the shallow side of the pool rope divider.
- Lifeguards reserve the right to restrict any non-U.S. Coast Guard flotation devices to the shallow areas only
- Non-swimmers without a floatation device are limited to shallow water areas onluy, within arms reach of a parent or guardian.
- Flotation aids, to include life jackets, are not authorized on the diving board or slide.
