Get ready for an action-packed day of competition, teamwork, and fun at Sports Day!
Sports Day is an approved alternate duty location! Participation from ALL is welcome including military, DoD civilians, and dependents! All participants are encouraged to wear appropriate civilian sporting attire, sports competitors should wear their squadron morale shirt or a similar color.
What to Expect:
- Eight sporting competitions throughout the day, followed by closing ceremonies
- NEW: The Herk Warrior Challenge – an award for the unit with the highest participation points!
- Food trucks starting at 11 AM
- Family members of all ages are welcome!

herk warrior challenge
battle for squadron glory!
Compete for more than just bragging rights—this year, your squadron can battle for the Herk Warrior Trophy in the all-new Herk Warrior Challenge! Your participation and performance at Sports Day can earn points for your squadron. The squadron with the highest percentage of participation at the end of the day will take home the Herk Warrior Trophy!
How to Earn Points:
- Winning 1st place in an event – 10 points
- Placing 2nd in an event – 8 points
- Placing 3rd in an event – 6 points
- Event participation (per team) – 2 points
- Volunteering – 2 points
- Bonus: Squadrons with at least one member in every event get 5 extra points!
The squadron with the highest percentage of participation at the end of the day wins the challenge. So bring your A-game, rally your team, and go for the trophy!

Help make Sports Day 2025 a success by signing up as a volunteer! Various roles are available, including keeping score, setting up and tearing down equipment, refereeing, assisting event POCs with tournament organization, and more.
This is a fantastic opportunity to give back, support your squadron, and earn a bullet!
*BONUS: All volunteers will receive two points for their squadron, a Letter of Appreciation and an exclusive 2025 Sports Day t-shirt!

FAQs
Q: Where can I park?
A: Parking will be available at the Fitness Center, at the Hangar 1080 Event Center, Strike Zone Bowling Center, and the BX/Comissary parking lots. Parking will NOT be available at the Medical Clinic or at the WarFit Pavilion.
Q: Will there be food available?
A: Yes! Food trucks will be present during lunch hours (11:00 AM to 3:00 PM).
Q: What should I wear?
A: Participants are encouraged to wear appropriate civilian sporting attire, sports competitors should wear their squadron morale shirt or similar. Please dress accordingly based on the weather and be aware of potential mud.
