Youth Center
The LRAFB Youth Center is looking for kids (age 9-18) who want to make new friends, discover new interests, develop into productive citizens, and have fun! The Youth Center has a wide variety of activities planned for everyday that will fulfill the needs of anybody that walks through the door. We focus on five main categories when planning the programs. They are: Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health and Life Skills, the Arts, Informal Youth Sports, and Fitness & Recreation. Cost: $25 for annual membership or $2/day.
Teen Center
The LRAFB Teen Center offers a wide variety of social activities for teen's ages 13-18. Some activities the Teen Center offers include: Music room where participants can check out acoustic, electric, bass guitars, drums, keyboards, and karaoke machine; Computer Lab which offers monitored internet access, computer games, and reading materials; Video game consoles (Play station II, X-Box, and Dreamcast) with a wide variety of all the most current video games; an Entertainment Center that offers the opportunity to view the latest movies on a big screen television and listen to your favorite CD on the high quality sound system; and Table top games like foosball and Ping-Pong are also available.
Nationally Accredited Programs for School-Age Children
The LRAFB School-Age Program offers care for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. The program consists of before school care, after school care, and a full-time vacation program as well as care on days when school is in operation for half days or during school record days. It is designed to provide many opportunities for children to broaden their horizons, engage in sports and recreational activities, and develop interests and skills that will continue into adulthood. The program is accredited by the National After School Association. The staff has an extensive training process that gives them the knowledge and skills to offer the highest quality of programming. This program also encourages and supports your child's development, allows them to explore and build on their interests, promotes freedom of choice and helps them to grow into competent, independent, and productive citizens.
